Drop Offs

To retrieve a collar without having to recapture the animal, we offer the optional integration of Drop-Off mechanisms into our collars. These can be triggered either at a pre-set time or remotely, allowing for flexible collar retrival in the field. Additionally, cotton layers can be added to the collar, which naturally degrade over time due to weather and animal behavior.

Internal Drop Off

 

Features:

  • Releases the collar automatically off the animal after a set period of time or fired remotely via device
  • Integrated into the battery pack
  • Complete battery unit is easily exchangeable by the researcher, even in the field
  • Drop Off mounting or release does not damage the collar
  • Lifetime: 8 years

External Drop Off

Features:

  • Especially suitable for Survey collars
  • Releases the collar automatically off the animal after a set period of time or fired remotely via device
  • Easily exchangeable without the need to exchange the battery pack
  • Lifetime: 5 years

Cotton Belt Break Away

Features:

  • Layers of natural cotton material
  • Wears down / rots off with time by weather and animal beavior to naturally release the collar
  • Environmentally friendly and very light for smaller animal species
  • Release time is not predictable
