INVENTA

In order to edit an existing GPS schedule you need to connect your collar locally to your PC as described in ‘Connecting a device (INVENTA Desktop only)‘.

Then access the configuration of your collar as described in ‘Configure a local device (INVENTA Desktop only)‘.

Within the Configuration tab you will find on the left menu the various schedules that can be edited.

Tip:
First decide whether you want to edit the existing rule or create an additional rule alongside the existing one. If you are editing an existing rule, proceed in the same way with the sequence: Decide whether you want to edit the existing sequence or create a new additional one.

You can configure the following within a rule:

  1. Duration: Time in which this rule is active
      • Permanent
      • Temporary period of time
  1. Repeat Interval: Period after which the rule starts again
      • Daily
      • Weekly
      • Custom interval of days, hours and minutes
  1. Skip Position (GPS schedule only): Non-transmitted GPS positions between two data transmissions
      • Default Skip Count (this is the skip count that is configured at ‘Sensors’ -> ‘GPS’)
      • Send Every Position
      • Dedicated count value that specifies how many GPS positions should be skipped and not sent during data transmission

You can configure the following within a sequence:

  1. Fix Rate: Time interval of hours, minutes and seconds that describes the GPS position acquisition frequency
  2. Start: Time of day in hours and minutes according to the UTC correction at which the acquisition of the first position begins
  3. End: Time of day in hours and minutes according to the UTC correction at which the acquisition of the positions stops

As soon as you start setting up the schedule, a Submit button will appear at the top right, which you can use to apply your configuration to the collar.

To be on the safe side, you will receive a summary of all your changes after clicking the Submit button, which you must confirm once again by clicking the Confirm button before applied to the collar.

Please keep in mind:
Applying a schedule to the collar means overwriting the previous schedule. The change is NOT additional.

Good to know:

  • Schedules can contain one or more rules.
  • Rules can contain one or more sequences.
  • If rules/sequences overlap, both are applied.
  • Permanent rules should be used for continuous, permanent aquisition and should not be modified frequently.
  • Temporary, additional rules will allow a GPS aquisition change for a defined period of time and then return to the permanent rule.
